Happy Black Friday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Turkey day, ate to your hearts content, and loved on those you love you yesterday.
This week brought some interesting and fabulous things in fashion and music, so let’s get into what caught my eye!
Rihanna’s Magazine Takeover
Ms. Fenty is out here in these streets doing cover SPREADS and collecting her coins, you hear me?! And I ain’t mad at her! This week, we were blessed to see Rihanna not only do three covers for Vogue Paris, but FOUR covers for Dazed Magazine. I must say, she looks effortlessly beautiful in every single one. My favorite is the Vogue Paris cover which she gives me Naomi Campbell vibes. This girl can do no wrong. Keep shining, boo!!
Solange and Her Calvins
Everyone’s best friend in their head Solange Knowles is now apart of a new campaign for Raf Simons’ led Calvin Klein. This is part of a new family-themed campaign titled “Our Family. #MYCALVINS”, which will feature chosen and biological families. For this campaign, Ms. Knowles is featured with a musical family with Kelela, Dev Hynes, Caroline Polachek, and Adam Bainbridge. This ad looks pretty dope and very new-age Calvin Klein. I’m here for it!
The one thing that shocked the hell out of me this week was the musical talent of Jaden Smith, son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith (for those of you who didn’t know). Last Friday, he released his album entitled Syre (which is part of his middle name), and it is quite impressive! Now I will admit, I was one of the few who had absolutely no clue that Jaden could rap and been sleeping on him for a while. This dude has content, flow, style, everything! You can even hear his beautiful little sister Willow’s singing sprinkled in there. It’s only right that this young man can rap. He is the son of a hip-hop icon. One of the dope tracks on the album is called “Icon”, and the visual for it is dope too! Take a look:
Alright, y’all! I hope you all have a beautiful weekend. Stay safe while you’re out taking advantage of Black Friday sales. Love you!
