Labor Day is this coming Monday, so you know what that means: COOKOUTS!! Now most people will be throwing your average backyard barbeque where jeans, t-shirts, and flip flops are the main dress code. Yet times have changed, social media is king, and what you wear to any event (even baby showers) is important. Today I will be showing four outfits, two for guys and two for gals, that would be great for those relaxed and casual cookouts and for those gatherings that are more of a fancy “soiree” than a barbeque.
For the ladies:
If you are going to a Labor Day function at the home of one those people who are fancy with everything, this outfit would be perfect for that event. Pair a tailored printed trouser with a solid top that is comfortable and flows or a fitted tank top. A solid pant and a printed blouse would look chic as well. Add accessories that play with the colors of the top and bottom and you will be ready to schmooze with the “who’s who” of the party.
If you are anything like me, I love to be cute and comfortable when I go to cookouts. Especially those where not only will the food be great, but the music will be bumping and I will be dancing all night long! If comfort is key for you, keep it simple with a screen tee and a pair of jeans. Cute accessories such as the Chloe backpack and chic shades add a little extra style, and easy flip flops allow to literally “kick off your shoes” and have fun!
For the fellas:
One thing that I love about men is that it doesn’t take much for them to get dressed. A t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers is a guy’s favorite outfit. But please believe, most guys are going to make sure they look good. Same as the ladies outfit above, keep it simple with a screen tee, jeans and sneakers for maximum comfort.
Though this outfit is a little casual, it’s more dressy than one would wear to a Labor Day function. For the guy that also has a fancy function to attend (or there’s a gorgeous lady that he wants to impress), a slim fit trouser with a versatile henley shirt and a pair of oxfords to match.
